Hiking at Mt. Rainier

Hiking at Mt. Rainier National Park is another great experience.  My husband and I visited there in July of 2011 and were fortunate to have beautiful sunny weather!

We did a short 1/2 mile hike to see this powerful flow of water…

I believe this is Snow Lake

We stopped at Reflection Lake…hoping to capture a beautiful reflection shot…but it wasn’t the right time of day and the water wasn’t calm enough.  That is snow (in July) around the lake.

A parade of bicyclists came wooshing past us…

We hiked a loop trail named Rampart Ridge Trail that had nice views of Mt. Rainier…

As I write this and view the photos…it transports me back in time.  I remember the free feeling…the feeling of being sheltered by the towering trees and the anticipation of what was around the corner.

The treat of seeing a beautiful deer…

Mt. Rainier has a variety of trails, so if you’re able, go take a hike!

  4. We went there last August – part of that trail looks familiar! It was so scenic, and the chipmunks up there are fearless! Great pics 🙂
