Rowe Woods, aka The Nature Center is located in a suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio. My husband and I (and Jake the spoiled hunting dog) went hiking there yesterday. We probably hiked 4 miles. Hiking is one of my favorite things to do. Even in this cold, dreary weather–there is beauty!
Snowflakes would drift down lightly from time to time…
The small lake was quite calm.
I was delighted to see these flowers sprouting in spite of the weather!
We chose four different trails to hike on…some of them had stairs.
I mentioned a recently that I learned to set the aperture for photographing waterfalls and had another opportunity to use it!
I like twisty..curvy trails.
We had a few creeks to cross. It’s a good thing I have long legs…these rocks were spaced quite far apart.
Steps are great for photographing!
I’m not sure what this little stone structure is or was.
A man and his best friend.
Leaves remaining on some of the trees help to give winter photos some interest.
Snow was falling more steadily back at the lake.
It’s always nice to have some benches to rest on…but not yesterday…it was too cold!

What a lovely series of photos! Rowe Woods looks like a beautiful park. I haven’t seen any snowdrops yet in Central Ohio, but now I’ll keep an eye out for them.

Thanks Deb! Looks like we’ll be getting 3-5 inches of snow tonight and in Central Ohio 4-8 inches! Time to pull out the sled! 🙂

You almost made me cry. I don’t receive much support at home for my photography…so I haven’t believed in it to the extent that I should. Thank you!

I have experienced the same and through my years most family and friends do not always now how to show appreciation for something they don’t appreciate and that is fine. However, like minds will appreciate your photography…I do. I and I promise you, I’m not the only one. I always say, “Everything is a photograph awaiting an appreciative eye”. Hello! 😉

How well do I know the sting. But we choose to experience the sting out of fear of rejection or not being good enough. We try to compare ourselves to others in an attempt to match up. Each and everyone of us are beautiful beings/souls. The grandest thing is to learn that, to “KNOW” that. When you think about it, it really is none of our business what others might think. For what others think of us are direct reflections of what they see in themselves. What we see in others is a direct reflection of that same aspect in ourselves. A tough one to get past but a grand truth if given enough contemplation. To step outside ourselves as an observer of self will bring that understanding about. In simple terms it is called judgment. As we judge others, so shall we be judged…by ourselves. Wouldn’t we be in one mell of a hess is God looked to us for acceptance? 😉 May this day and every day for the rest of your life be blessed beyond “ALL” understanding”.

Yes…you’re right. Any what we may call “negative qualities” that we dislike in others…we can find in ourselves. I’ve read all of this…it’s nice to have reminders though! Thank you and I hope your day is wonderful!!
