This morning I left my Airbnb at 6:45 a.m. and drove a little over two hours to take the hour and 15 minute ferry ride from Pictou, Nova Scotia to Prince Edward Island. It was a white knuckle drive, pouring down rain, but I made it. After the ferry docked, I drove 45 minutes to Charlottetown. I had developed a 3-mile self- guided walking tour of Charlottetown, but ended up only doing 2 miles of it. Here are a few of the sites I saw…

I had a bite to eat at Founders Food Hall and Market.

From there, it was an 1/2 hr. drive to my Airbnb in the countryside. My Airbnb host was very warm and welcoming. She’s a very interesting person. In addition to holding down a full-time job as a chemical engineer, she has a side business growing and selling mushrooms. She also has two big dogs, eight cats, and three baby raccoons 🦝 She let me help feed the raccoons. That was fun! They like to follow her dog around.

The view from my upstairs bedroom and her backyard is amazing! She has 80 acres including some of the water you see out in the yard.

Tomorrow I have a 3 and 1/2 hour drive to explore the island.
That’s quite a few animals 😲

Feeding the baby raccoons would such a unique experience. What happened to their Mum?

She might have told me, but I don’t remember.
