Sights to see along Big Sur, California

Yesterday turned out to be a beautiful day! Originally I was going to drive along Big Sur today on my way to Morro Bay, but since there’s a landslide and I was going to have to come back this way anyway, it made sense to do it today.  I drove a little over an hour and hiked Partington Cove Trail in Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park. It was a mile round trip and was easy because of the switchbacks. There’s a tunnel that leads to the ocean.

I was going to hike the half mile McWay waterfall Trail, but decided against it, and then I discovered an overlook of the area.

I drove 2 mi down a one-lane bumpy road to Pfeiffer Beach. It’s $15 for access, but it was worth it. It was quite lovely.

I stopped at various scenic overlooks. Big Sur lived up to my expectations!

Today I’ll head up the Big Sur Coast from the south and make some other stops closer to Morro Bay before heading to my Airbnb.
