Yesterday, I took the 7:15am – 45 minute ferry from Woods Hole Terminal, Falmouth, MA to Vineyard Haven, Martha’s Vineyard. I had reserved an E-Bike, but canceled it a week ago because their cancellation policy would only refund 50% if the weather was bad. There was a Hertz rental car agency just off the ferry, so they gave me a much better rate than online. The weather was foggy and chilly, but at least it wasn’t rainy. I drove along Beach Road and took a pic.

I stopped at the East Chop lighthouse.

My next destination was the gingerbread houses in Oak Bluffs. I didn’t know what to expect, but I liked the name. It’s a community, I believe religious based, where the homes look like gingerbread houses.

I briefly stopped in Edgartown.

Originally, since I was going to be on an e-bike, I wasn’t going to cycle across the island to see the Aquinnah Cliffs, but with a car it was fine. They remind me of the Mohegan Bluffs on Block Island.

Not far from there is a town called Menemsha. I got a bite to eat there and this was my view…

I was back at my lodging by 2:45 p.m. It felt like a long day. Today I’m headed to Vermont.
