This morning I drove to Tallulah Gorge State Park and hiked almost 2 mi on the North and South rim gorge trail. There are about 2,000 steps 🙀 and half of those go up. Beautiful views though!

At one point you cross a suspension bridge over the gorge. You can feel it move some as you walk.

At the bottom it’s also lovely.

Next I drove about a half an hour to Black Rock Mountain State Park, Georgia, and hiked a little over 2 mi on the Tennessee Rock trail. There is a 550-ft elevation change for this trail. Halfway through, you have a beautiful view of the Blue Ridge mountains. I had bear spray with me just in case.

I only had a banana for breakfast so I stopped at a popular local diner for lunch. It has to be the most redneck restaurant I’ve been in. The food was good though! I had the Randy Burger in honor of my late husband, Randy.

I’m relaxing back at my Airbnb now and leave tomorrow morning for Knoxville. I’ll hike at two more State parks on the way.
