This morning I drove 3 and 1/2 hours from Halifax to my Airbnb on Cape Breton. It feels like I’ve landed in heaven! The owner, Mary, was very warm and welcoming and took me on a tour of her place. As you can see, there are abundant flowers and vegetable/herb gardens. Her puppy Frankie is very lovable. She took me down to a stream with moss covered rocks on her 170 acres.

It’s the perfect place for relaxation and contemplation. Tomorrow, I will be driving the 185 mile Cabot Trail loop around most of Cape Breton Island, passing through Cape Breton Highlands National Park. I’ll also be hiking the 4.8 mile Skyline Trail.
Looks like THE place to stay!
