Exploring Prince Edward Island

I Left my Airbnb by 7:00 a.m. this morning and drove 45 minutes to the 2.7 mile Greenwich Dunes Trail. About a third of the trail was a floating boardwalk. I didn’t encounter another soul on the trail, except for a rabbit and some birds.

A few of my other stops were Rustico Beach, Thunder Cove Beach, and some scenic pull-offs. My drive time was about 3.5 hours, not counting the hike and stops. Prince Edward Island is beautiful!

The profusion of yellow flowers in the fields was delightful!

I stopped for a late lunch/early dinner at FiN Folk food. The lobster roll was delicious and you couldn’t beat the view!

Tomorrow I’ll be hiking along the way towards Acadia National Park, spending the night in New Brunswick.

  1. Thanks for talking on the phone today. I was thinking that your blog doesn’t need many words. … The pictures tell the story quite clearly. Although I do like you occasional comments.

  2. I remember Prince Edward Island well, in 1970 2 buddies and I rented a Scamper that we hauled behind a 1967 Chevy Biscayne and we camped on a beautiful secluded bay in Souris and boiled lobsters that cost 50 cents a piece! It was our high school graduation trip and we went to quite a few of the wonderful places that you have gone to.
