Assateague Island National Seashore and Ocean City, Maryland

Yesterday, I drove 2 and 1/2 hours from Annapolis to Assateague Island National Seashore, Maryland. I was hoping to see the wild ponies, and saw a group of them soon after I arrived.

I rented a bicycle and cycled to various trails, exploring the marshes and sand dunes.

On the way back to return my bicycle, I got lucky and saw more ponies.

I drove to Ocean City, Maryland and was able to check into my Airbnb early. It’s up three flights of stairs, ugh! But, the view is nice from the balcony.

I made sure to check out the sunset.

I’m feeling a little lonely and sad.  I’m sure it’s partly because I’m not feeling well. Solo traveling is losing some of its appeal, since I’ve been doing it for almost 7 years now.

Today’s supposed to be a little cooler, in the ’60s, but sunny. I’ll probably go take a walk on the beach today.

  1. Your photography of the seashore in Maryland is beautiful, Sherry, and what a treat to encounter wild ponies!!! I’m so sorry you’re feeling lonely at this time. If ever you’d like a friend to accompany you on local travels – together, or meet up at a specified location – please feel free to shoutout. Maybe we could enjoy a trail or two, or, if you’re comfortable sharing space, a room with a view. Just a thought. Wishing you all the best for a lovely day on the beach! 🙂😘🍫💐
