Hiking in Hurricane and Zion Canyon Hot Springs

Tuesday I drove an hour from Kanab to Hurricane, Utah and hiked a 2-mile trail. It was short and easy, but that’s what I wanted.

Then I went to Zion Canyon Hot Springs and spent a couple of hours soaking in varying degrees of mineral waters. I got in the 50° cold plunge twice, for 30 seconds each time. I have neuropathy, and later I read that it’s probably not the best thing to do. It’s a beautiful facility, and reminds me of Iron Mountain Hot Springs in Glenwood Springs, Colorado.

After that I went to my hair appointment and got it buzzed off ✂️. I’m letting the gray grow in and didn’t like having a demarcation line. It gives you a sense of freedom, that’s for sure. It will grow.

When I got back to my place, I made steak and asparagus and then made a recipe for ice cream using cottage cheese, honey, a pinch of sea salt, and a little vanilla. It turned out pretty good, and tastes similar to salted caramel ice cream.

The weather’s been nice, usually ’60s during the day.

  1. LOVE the hair! It’s very fashionable. I traveled to Eindhoven, Netherlands to have my hair buzzed by HFDZK women’s barbershop (YouTube). He specializes in these cuts. Would be fun to see you in one of his videos if you traveled there. Eindhoven was beautiful and I would love to go back. Check out his videos.
