There are so many types of roads! Flat..hilly..curvy..straight..paved..dirt..rocky..steep! Where’s My Backpack’s Travel Theme this week is….Roads!
The first three road photos were all taken in Namibia, Africa. The terrain, at times, seemed alien and made for some great photographs!
This Quiver Tree adds interest to this road shot…
Eastfork State Park, Cincinnati, Ohio
Mariemont, Cincinnati, Ohio
So what’s your favorite road?

My favorite road is the gravel one about a mile from my home where I walk among trees, wildlife, and pastoral views of the foothills. What I want to ask the Travel Expert is: I have not flown since 1998 (can you believe it) and must fly in May. Any tips for this post 9-11 traveler? Can you recommend best plane reservations site? I know you are on the floor reeling from shock! 😉

That’s cool about your gravel road! I can’t believe you haven’t flown since then!! I usually use Kayak because it compares other sites. There are quite a few that do that. Where are you going? You probably said in your blog…but I read so many, it’s hard to keep them straight.

The road home is always my favourite. I admit to being enamoured with other roads in my life and your roads are outstanding but the road home will always be the one for me.

Of all the roads I’ve travelled, the ones that stand out in my memory are the roads we traveled when I was a child during the ’50s through North Carolina — roads that took us between Greensboro and Goldsboro. I have fond memories of riding in my grandfather’s car past huge fields of cotton, tobacco and corn.
