I turned 65 years old yesterday! My body feels it, emotionally / mentally I feel beat up, and time has definitely sped up. I do feel grateful for the few people I have left in my life and the opportunities I have for travel. I led a group hike in the morning. We discovered a turtle along the trail.

I went out with my friend for dinner last night to a restaurant I’ve been wanting to try called Mitas. The tapas were excellent! The hostess had a very unique creative look.

This past Sunday my brother and his wife had me over for an early birthday celebration. He’s a good cook, and made a shrimp/ asparagus risotto that was yummy. He also baked a lemon cake, which was very sweet of him.

I had a first date Tuesday evening. He seems like a nice man, we’ll see how it goes. We had dinner at Bonefish Grill, and it was delish.

Last week I went kayaking with a girlfriend who has four kayaks. We went to Kincaid lake State Park. It was fun.

I leave in a couple of weeks on a trip I’ve had planned since January to Oregon and Canada, to explore and hike. I’m excited about that!
