Meetup events, the Hendersonville Family YMCA, and purchasing a Wig

For the past week I’ve mainly been attending Meetup events. I’m trying to meet new friends and had coffee with a lady. One of the events was at a place called Burntshirt Vineyards. The grounds were lovely. I’m discovering that most of these people don’t really want a new friend, but it’s a numbers game, so eventually I will find my tribe.

I joined the Hendersonville Family YMCA and have been going regularly. They have these cool exercise machines that are customized and after you sign in with your wristband, they adjust to you and track your progress. I’m headed to a Pilates class this morning. I went to a Hydroburn pool class yesterday. I was able to join for free because of my Medicare secondary insurance.

Since I had all of my hair cut off so that the silver can grow in, I purchased a wig for the time being. I don’t wear it all of the time.

I went to the DMV and got my North Carolina driver’s license and registration.  North Carolina car insurance is a lot less expensive than in Colorado. Happy Memorial Day!

  1. That wig looks great on you! I l really like the color. I’m thinking of joining a Meetup group for crochet/knitting too. I wanted to join a karaoke group but so far it’s at the wrong time for me or they have a waitlist.

  2. Finding new friends gets more difficult as you get older, but joining a club like YMCA is a good way to do it. Another is joining an adult class to learn another language and get to know the other students. If you really want to learn the language you are going to be in the class for years, which is plenty of time to get to know others.
