Exploring Spartanburg, South Carolina and hiking Bear Wallow Mountain trail

My latest adventures include an hour drive from Hendersonville, N.C. to Spartanburg, S. C.  I’ve never been there. I explored Hatcher Garden and Woodland Preserve. There are walking trails and water features. I also checked out the downtown area and had a bite to eat at a Japanese restaurant. Spartanburg is small, but it was nice.

Yesterday I went hiking with a Meetup group. It was only a 2-mile hike called Bear Wallow Mountain trail, but the views at the top were amazing! I felt like I was back in Switzerland with the cows. The Blue Ridge mountains are beautiful!

I picked up my new e-bike and I’m going for a ride this morning. I’m only 1 minute away from the Ecusta bike trail. Later today, I’m meeting people at a winery. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

  1. A 2-mile hike that hands you Switzerland-with-the-cows views is the dream ratio — that’s exactly the kind of short trail we hunt for with kids in tow, who’ll happily climb for an hour as long as there’s a payoff at the top. Hatcher Garden sounds like a lovely gentler warm-up too. Enjoy that new e-bike on the Ecusta trail!
