There’s a bar in Over The Rhine (an area of town in Cincinnati Ohio) called Japps Since 1879 and I had been wanting to check it out, so I stopped in. It used to be a hair store. This is the head mixologist–Molly. I love her tattoos and style! And the bar is fabulous! It’s housed in a restored historical building with live music, yummy craft cocktails and a unique atmosphere!
This is my friend Gina. As you can see…it wasn’t very crowded because it was still early…around 5pm.
The high ceilings, crown molding, and light fixtures are just beautiful!
Here are the two bluesy band members…
Back outside, there’s more street art to enjoy…
And shopping…
I’ll be back tomorrow with more Over the Rhine shots!

Love the decor and the bicycle. Are there any good vegan restaurants in your area?

There are quite a few throughout Cincinnati. I’m not vegan now…used to be for a period of time…so I’m not sure where all of them are.

Hope Molly really loves those ink lines, as she is stuck with them for life unless she gets another skin. Bar has much ambiance–love the floors.

I know! My son has a couple of tattoos but they’re on his upper arms where they can be covered.

Thanks Mike! Hope you’re able to. I saw from your blog where you’ve already been on a trip through the US years ago! Cincinnati probably wasn’t on the agenda. 😉

I’m coming on a solo trip to Philadelphia in less than 2 weeks. I’ve never been. I’ll be there for a couple of days and then taking the train to NYC…where I’ve never been also! From the research I’ve done so far these are the things I should see/do: Independence National Historic Park – Liberty Bell, Phil Museum of Art, Morris Arboretum, Boathouse Row, Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens, South Street. Would you change anything on my list?

If you’d like a guide or advice let me know, if I am in town I would be happy to oblige. The Arboretum is well done but I would absolutely recommend Longwood Gardens instead. It is one of the largest manicured gardens, originally a DuPont property and it is a must see!

Thank you so much! I am staying at a stranger’s home, but she seems very friendly. She works during the day, so if you’re available…it might work out! I may ask for some advice also!

I must do this then as I cannot afford this kind of trip all the time but I need to TRAVEL>> All the people looking for places to stay on CS are very young and mostly male.

I haven’t found that to be the case. You can narrow your search results by age, gender, etc.
