Happy Birthday from Hollywood Casino

Birthdays are meant to be celebrated…especially the older you become…because not everyone is fortunate enough to become old!  For my birthday on Friday, I was treated by Hollywood Casino to an overnight stay with dinner and dancing at their beautiful venue in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.  If you’ve been following along, you’ll remember my post here explaining how I received all of this as a complimentary gesture!

My husband and I arrived to our room about 5:00pm and were pleasantly surprised with their simple, but elegant decor!  They recently renovated…

Here’s the view from our room…

I enjoy taking photographs of long paths, roads, and hotel hallways…

After checking into the hotel, we walked through this atrium and connector corridor to the restaurant/casino area…

Walking to the Final Cut Restaurant, we passed through this luxurious lobby…

Our dinner reservations were for 7:00pm, but I called down to see if I could move it up to 6:30pm because we were quite hungry, and they said “no problem”.  We had a nice view from our comfortable booth…

I love the wavy glass…

Our waiter’s name was Justin and he provided an I-pad for us to view the wine and drink menu.  That was a first for both of us, so it was fun!

While waiting for our appetizer, I took a stroll through the restaurant and snapped a few photographs of the modern decor…

They have a separate area for groups that want privacy.  More wavy glass…

I hope you love architecture as much as I do!

Although I’ve been following the Paleo eating plan, I decided not to adhere to it on my birthday!  After having a piece of buttered bread and splitting a “to die for” bread-less crab cake, I couldn’t wait to dig into my melt-in-your-mouth bacon wrapped beef medallions with some type of cherry demi-glaze and goat cheese, succulent lobster, wild forest mushrooms, and grilled asparagus!  Oh my goodness…everything was so sumptuous!

I only ate half of my meal and they boxed up the remainder for us to store in the refrigerator they ordered for our room.  Next on the agenda was drinks and dancing at their fun night club, “Boogie Nights”!  We were seated at their VIP booth with our very own dance floor!  Sweet!  Our cute waiter and waitress…

Boogie Nights is definitely a throw-back to the discos from when I was young…complete with a huge disco ball!

From the dance floor level, you can see the DJ and above him, our VIP booth where Randy is sitting on a comfy sofa…

When we arrived it was only 9:30pm and there weren’t many people there yet.  I was able to take a few fun photos of the dancers…

I’m sitting in the moon chair or whatever they’re called that was in our area…

Jay Kruz from the radio station Rewind 94.9 was the DJ.  He and the dancing girl posed for me…

Here’s Randy bustin’ a move on our private dance floor!  They played mostly disco and rap music.  We felt like the Queen and King overlooking our subjects…

A “Brett Michaels” look-alike came over and posed with me.  He’s a good singer too!

It was so much fun people watching…

What a way to spend your birthday!  I had tons of fun and really appreciate the generous offer from the Casino!  Thank you!!
