Exploring Old Town San Diego, Little Italy, Coronado Beach and Mt. Helix Park


I set off early yesterday morning to explore San Diego. I’ve only been here once before — 18 years ago for a couple of days. My first stop was Old Town San Diego. I prepare my walking routes ahead of time on Google maps. These are photos of what caught my eye…

I found cute homes in Heritage Park Victorian Village, Old Town, San Diego.

Next I drove to Little Italy. It didn’t look very Italian to me 😅

I made my way down to the waterfront. There were preparations being made for a Veterans Day parade.

Then I drove across the long bridge to Coronado Beach. There was still some fog, but it began to clear as I walked on the beach. There was a lone surfer.

Finally, I drove to Mt Helix Park. I knew it would have a good view, but it was nicer than I expected. Lots of steps to go up. Since I’m used to living at a higher elevation, I don’t get winded as easily.

My brother wished me happy Veterans Day on Facebook. I had actually forgotten about it. I finished my morning with a free lunch at Chili’s bar and grill.

We’ll see what today brings.
