Socializing, meeting a date at the Carl Sandburg Home National Historic site, chasing waterfalls in Cashiers, North Carolina, and an early 4th of July celebration!

The other day, I went walking again with the Henderson County Welcome Club. The park where we walk is lovely.

I’ve been out with a lady a couple of times and I invited her over for lunch and a walk. It was nice. I’m starting to make friends.

I had a second date with a guy and we met at the Carl Sandburg Home National Historic site. He arranged it, but he didn’t realize that the last tour was at 3:00 p.m. so we weren’t able to tour inside of the home. We walked the grounds and they have barns with goats that you’re allowed to pet. I thought he was someone I may have chemistry with, but he was too forward.

Thursday, I drove an hour to Cashiers, North Carolina and hiked two trails for a total of 5 miles. I was chasing waterfalls! One of the trails had a number of waterfalls and although there were signs warning people to stay on the trail since people have died and/or been seriously injured, these young ladies decided to slide down one of the waterfalls. It does look fun, especially with the heat.

This waterfall is called Whitewater Falls. It’s really tall.

Yesterday, I met a group of people for a picnic. It’s been so hot here, like so much of the world right now. Everyone brought something and it was delish.

Happy 4th!

I'd love to hear what you have to say
