Exploring South Bass Island on our golf cart, my girlfriends and I discovered the other side of Put-in-Bay. The side that makes you want to pull up a comfy lounge chair and let the world go by. We admired the lakeside homes with the glittering water shining through their windows…
Sailboats gliding quietly through the blue waters…
Picturesque white washed clapboard homes with a simple and peaceful style…
Boats, big and small, lining the docks…
Stately Victorian style homes with manicured lawns and inviting porches…
Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial was established to honor those who fought in the Battle of Lake Erie, during the War of 1812, and to celebrate the long-lasting peace between Britain, Canada and the U.S. The Memorial rises 352 feet over Lake Erie, weights almost 17,000 tons, and is situated 5 miles from the longest undefended border in the world!
If you’re looking for a place to unwind and have some dancing fun, visit Put-in-Bay!
You have certainly convinced me to put it on my list.

I like the idea of this long undefended border. May it always stay that way.

That’s a lot of summers. There are so many places to visit, I try to go somewhere new. It is beautiful though and if it’s close by, I can see why she went back again and again!
