A few days ago, my husband and I headed over to the Longbranch Farms located a few minutes away from our home and took a hike! The sky was gorgeous and it was warm..50 degrees…compared to recently.
Wild Weekly Photo Challenge – Wanderlust
I’m excited to participate in the Adventure and Travel Magazine Let’s Be Wild Weekly Photo Challenge for Bloggers. This week’s challenge is Wanderlust! I have had a bad case of Wanderlust at times and looking at past adventures tends to kindle that flame even more.
Travel Theme: Mountains
Where’s My Backpack’s Travel Theme this week is Mountains. I love Mountains! I love to hike on them, look at them, and photograph them! I posted so many photos of Mountains recently with my “Hiking” series…I had to search through my thousands of photos for some I haven’t posted–or at least not recently.
The Enchanted Forest at the Krohn Conservatory (Part II)
Hopefully, you read Park I of my Enchanted Forest at the Krohn Conservatory yesterday. If not, you can read it here. I like being a Tourist in my own City!
The Waterfall at the Krohn Conservatory is lovely! I fooled around with the Aperture and was able to get that silky effect. It’s on my “to-do list” to learn more about my camera!
WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge: Kiss
I love to kiss and that’s the Photo Challenge for WordPress this week!
This Egyptian camel owner likes to kiss his camel!
The Enchanted Forest at the Krohn Conservatory
The Enchanted Forest is one of the many amazing events and displays that the Krohn Conservatory in Cincinnati, Ohio hosts. Yesterday, my friend Gina and I were definitely enchanted with their forest! As a Tourist in my City…it’s fun to find inexpensive ($3.00), yet really cool things to do!

Images from Yesterday
I’ll start with the end of the day. As I was preparing dinner, I realized the sun was setting and I wanted to capture a photo without a lot of trees hiding it. My husband probably thought I was crazy (actually he already does) because I stopped everything and said, “I’ll be right back…I’m going to take a few photos of the sunset down the street.” I hopped in my car, drove a few minutes away, stopped the car on the road with my flashers on, got out and crossed the road to take a few. Whew! Here’s one…
Flea Market finds at Traders World in Monroe, Ohio
Traders World in Monroe, Ohio is a Flea Market extravaganza! With over 1,200 vendor spaces and occupying 11 acres, there’s something for everyone! I like to go to take photos and people watch.
Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Black and White
I’ve been looking forward to Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge this week because the theme is Black and White! I’ve been having lots of fun switching my photographs from color to black and white! I’m getting a better feel for which ones will look better or at least just as good black and white.

Wild Weekly Photo Challenge – Green
This is my first time participating in the online adventure travel and photography magazine Let’s Be Wild Weekly Photo Challenge and this week the challenge is “Green”! If you’d like to vote for me…go here. Thanks very much!!
This is a “Hickory Horned Devil” that eventually morphs into a “Royal Walnut Moth” or “Regal Moth”. It looks like it has sunglasses on! It was about 4 inches long by 1 inch wide. It was laying on a hiking trail at Hocking Hills State Park, Ohio.
A Word a Week Challenge – Garden
I was delighted that this week’s A Word a Week Challenge was Garden! We all need some color to brighten up our Winter! My first photo was taken in 2011 of a fabulous lavender field in the Sequim-Dungeness Valley on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State…
Hiking on the Appalachian Trail
Hiking on the Appalachian Trail was another bucket list experience! I discovered that you can hike Lodge to Lodge, so you don’t have to carry a tent and food (other than snacks and lunch), along a 17 mile portion of the trail through Virginia in the Shenandoah National Park. If you’d like to plan your own trip, the details are here.
These are some of the images I encountered while hiking…
Travel Theme: Gaudy
It’s time for the weekly Where’s My Backpack Travel Theme and this week’s theme is Gaudy! If you get out much…not even out of your hometown…there’s always something or someone that looks Gaudy!
I spotted this mannequin down an alley in Yellow Springs, Ohio. Actually, I think she’s quite lovely…

WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge: Home
“Home” is the Weekly Photo Challenge hosted by WordPress.
Some of these giant Sequoia trees, located in the Sequoia National Park, California, have claimed their home for over 2,000 years. I was visiting there in the Autumn of 2011.
