Hiking the Colorado Trail is a perfect way to spend the day! The scenery is picture perfect! I hiked a portion of the Molas Trail, an 8 mile round trip hike, that descends to the Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, and follows the Colorado Trail for a little ways.
If you’d like to use one of your own photos for a DIY Photo Wall Art project, Sugar Bee Crafts has a great post to walk you through each step. For less than $15 I was able to make a 3′ x 4′ piece of art with a photograph I took in California! It’s hanging in my office, so I can look out the window at the woods and look on the wall at the woods!
I found the idea on Pinterest and followed the link! It’s a great idea for photos of people also. Next, I’d like to make some for friends!

This week’s Travel Theme at Where’s My Backpack is Shadows. It’s so much fun when you suddenly notice a really interesting or artistic photo opportunity. As I’ve become more interested in photography and take more photographs, I see the world around me in a new and exciting light! Hiking in Olympic National Park, Washington is a feast for the senses! I was blown away by the natural beauty! I was there in July of 2011 and the weather was glorious.

During my 18 day visit to SE Asia in 2009, I found the people there to be very industrious! When I took this photo in Hanoi, Vietnam, I didn’t know the bicycle driver was looking at me with a friendly smile. There was so much energy and movement…always something to look at!

There are many words one could use to describe people in Africa, but spirited seems fitting to me!
Every time I’m able to take a photo of someone who seems interesting to me…I feel like I’ve just been given a present. When I saw this man standing in Cape Town, South Africa, I just had to take his photo. Actually, he posed for me. I asked him to turn sidewise. It all happened in the space of less than 30 seconds. To be a travel photographer, I think it’s important to have an outgoing personality, so that you’re able to approach people easily.
Another series in my People from around the world…Exotic People from Egypt! Why is that some men from Egypt have this mysterious and perhaps a bit of danger look in their eyes? I find it quite fascinating!
What does a blogger/photographer do on a rainy day when her husband is using her car because his has a problem….take photos at home! I was going for an abstract theme in some of these…so I changed colors, etc. The first is of the full moon this morning…
Hiking Petra is an electrifying experience! Although the landscape seems stark…it’s alive with energy! Over the course of two days, I was able to hike for miles through the ancient grounds, high into the rock formations. These horse and buggies are available for those that aren’t able or don’t want to walk.
